- Punta Cana is one of the Caribbean's safest tourist destinations — the resort corridor is heavily policed and tourist-focused. Millions of Americans visit every year without incident. As with all travel, stay within resort areas at night and use airport-arranged transportation.
- What is the best month to visit Punta Cana?
- December through April is the dry season — ideal weather with very little rain. June through November is hurricane season (peak: August–October) but resorts often have excellent pricing. Easter and Christmas weeks are the most crowded and expensive.
- What is the difference between Punta Cana and Bavaro?
- They are adjacent areas often used interchangeably. Punta Cana technically refers to the southern tip; Bavaro is the main resort beach area to the north. Most resorts are in Bavaro, but fly into Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Both share the same stunning beach.
